Discerning the Voice of God: Revealing His Plans - Session 5, Oct. 14, 2020
Do you want to know God’s will for you?
Well, what has He put before you today?
Have you ever had a ‘dry season’ of life where you either felt overwhelmed with life or underwhelmed with life?
Moses spent 40 years in that dry season. No matter what our race, our social status, or any other diversity---pain is pain when we experience it.
Do you think Moses was tempted to think God had forgotten him? Learn encouragement from Exodus 3.
#God manifests His presence in the wilderness.
#Look Upward-He shouts to us in our pain.
#Expect that God is going to move.
When you feel like God is the most silent, he may be doing the most.
Our lives are Masterpieces that God is writing.
Verses telling us to Wait for God: Hebrews 13:5, Isaiah 6:1, Daniel 3 and Genesis 37-47, plus Esther, Ruth and Jesus in Gethsemane.
When we ‘see a bush burning’ in the wilderness that does not burn up, may we do like Moses and turn aside to look.
Our problems can consume us.
Worry is a cue to fix our eyes on Jesus; watch for it.
Go to battle for peace of mind; against depression; be intentional; be diligent, read prayers (You likely have a book of prayers-
Don’t go buy one.)
Life is not a playground; it is a battlefield.
God equips each of us for His purposes while we are in the desert.
He may be giving you character needed or foundational work.
Exodus 19-20—The Lord is equipping you for His destinations.
God recharts your course while you are in the desert.
What have been desert seasons you have had in your life???????????
Exodus 3:4-When the Lord saw that Moses had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, ‘Moses!’ ‘Moses!’
And Moses said, ‘Here I am.’
5-“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”6-Then He said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this moment, Moses hid his face, afraid to look at God. (How often have we each hid our face and thoughts from God?)
Remember in your driest season of life—‘The believer gets down so he can look up!’
He may want to ‘redirect your entire life.’
When you cannot trace God’s hand, trust His heart.
Life’s interruptions are God directing you on with your life.
Refer to the 5 M’s of Correctly hearing God. . .
Today, seek Model of Scripture ( in Exodus here)
Look for Message of the Holy Spirit for discernment
Live in Mode of Prayer-don’t talk to others more than God
Submit to Ministry of Eli who sought Samuel (more mature)
Expect Mercy of Confirmation/God wants you to know His will
